“Birthday Celebration” for our beloved senior members

Our Jewish community has a special, heartwarming tradition: every month, we host a “Birthday Celebration” for our beloved senior members

For us, this is an opportunity to bring together people who are a true blessing and a great asset to our community. We give them our attention, warm words, hugs, and good cheer, and treat them to delicious food-in short, as they say, we simply spend time together like family

It is especially touching to see our birthday celebrants, who are already in their golden years-may G-d grant them many more! And despite the war, constant anxiety, and brutal shelling, we do our best to ensure that on this day they feel joy, warmth, and love, so that they can more easily endure these difficult times

Unfortunately, many of them are completely alone. Sometimes it is precisely these gatherings that become for them a breath of a happy life, a peaceful and happy life… which gives them the strength not to lose hope for a better future and to feel that they are needed and not forgotten!

When I look into their eyes, filled with tears of joy, I clearly understand just how important these simple human moments are!
