Our Jewish community has a wonderful tradition. Every month, we celebrate “Birthday Day” We hold events for our dear elderly parishioners, who are the true treasure of our community.
It is a simple but heartwarming celebration where we gather everyone together to give them attention, smiles, and sincere congratulations, and we don't forget to feed them delicious food and treat them to tasty snacks.
It is especially touching to celebrate the 90th birthday of some of our birthday boys and girls! Despite the war and heavy shelling, we organize a celebration for them where their eyes shine with joy and their hearts are filled with warmth from hugs. Because many of them are completely alone and have no one to care for them...
Moments like these give elderly people the strength to carry on, to feel needed and loved!
