This photograph was taken in 1987, when I had the honor and opportunity to meet the Lubavitcher Rebbe and receive his blessing and guidance for my future endeavors, which led me to Kyiv

Today, the 3rd of Tammuz, Jews around the world commemorate the day of the great tzaddik and spiritual mentor, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who left an indelible mark on modern history


This photograph was taken in 1987, when I had the honor and opportunity to meet the Lubavitcher Rebbe and receive his blessing and guidance for my future endeavors, which led me to Kyiv


The Rebbe was the spiritual leader of the modern Jewish generation; his contribution was and remains a precious gift to us all. The central idea he emphasized was love for one’s neighbor and not remaining indifferent to the suffering of others. He was a source of wisdom, kindness, and inspiration for millions of people around the world!


It is also important to mention that the Lubavitcher Rebbe had special ties to Ukraine. His life journey began in the glorious Ukrainian Hero City of Mykolaiv, then led him through the city of Dnipro, where he lived for some time and where his father served as the city’s chief rabbi. Therefore, the Rebbe’s Ukrainian roots became an important part of his legacy
