The Rebbe was born in Ukraine in the heroic city of Mykolaiv, later lived in Dnipro, and after leaving the Soviet Union, continued his activities in Israel and America.
I received an archival video from 1991, a moment that I have cherished in my heart all my life. At that time, I approached the Rebbe with my children and asked for his blessing for the Children of Chernobyl project, a humanitarian initiative that I was involved in at the time, which allowed several thousand children affected by the Chernobyl disaster to be brought to Israel for treatment and rehabilitation. Many of them got a chance for a new life without chronic illnesses
