Eternal memory to the liquidators and victims of the Chernobyl tragedy
Today, April 26, we commemorate one of the most horrific tragedies in human history - the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
Chernobyl left behind more than just an exclusion zone. It left pain in the lives of millions of people, fear in the hearts of parents, and consequences that would be felt by entire generations for a long time to come…
In the early 1990s, I participated in the Israeli humanitarian initiative “Chabad – Children of Chernobyl.” Thanks to this program, thousands of children affected by the Chernobyl disaster were able to travel to Israel for treatment and rehabilitation. For them, it was a real chance - for recovery, a new future, and a normal life!
The memory of the Chernobyl tragedy must live on not only in dates and memorials. It must remind us of just how terrible the price of human indifference, lies, and irresponsibility can be.
Eternal memory to the liquidators and victims of the Chernobyl tragedy
