On this day I want to share with you my personal pain. In 2002, my wife and I adopted a 10.5-year-old boy who was orphaned. His name was Anton Samborsky, but we gave him the Hebrew name Matayahu (Motya) in honor of the heroic leader of the Maccabees' uprising against an invading empire over 2,200 years ago - eve

Motya lived in our family for about 10 years, and when he became an adult, he decided to live on his own. He got married and had a daughter this past May. But a week after the baby was born, Motya was drafted into the army. After a quick course of young fighter he was immediately sent to the front line.
The last time we communicated with Motya was on July 17. And on July 24th he went missing in action. His wife received an official document...
