Today May 14 is the Day of Remembrance of Ukrainians who saved Jews during the Second World War

I, as Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, and as a Jew, on behalf of the Jewish community - I want to express deep gratitude to the Ukrainians, who in terrible times for us did not turn away. Who, risking their own lives, saved Jews

During the years of the Holocaust, when fear and death reigned, there were those who chose humanity. Those who opened the doors of their homes, hid children and entire families, gave a piece of bread, documents and hope. Thanks to such people, thousands of Jewish lives were saved!

This feat is a part of Jewish history, and a common Ukrainian-Jewish memory. And this memory is a living memory.

Today, when the world again faces evil and injustice, their example inspires us not to be silent, not to stand aside, to resist and to be human!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

And I pray that the light and merit of your deeds will never fade into oblivion

May the blessing of the Almighty be with the families of the Righteous forever!
