Day of Tragedy and Heroism of European Jewry

Apr 14, 2026

Big difference between then and now - today, the Jewish people are not defenseless. Today, they are capable and ready to defend themselves

Today marks the Day of Tragedy and Heroism of European Jewry. On this day, people around the world honor the memory of the six million Jews murdered by Hitler’s Nazis during World War II

At the same time, we honor the memory of the heroic Jewish uprising that began precisely during these days in the Warsaw Ghetto, where Hitler’s Nazis had herded some 500,000 Jews into inhumane living conditions.

But they decided to fight!

The uprising lasted nearly a month (from April 19 to May 16, 1943). The forces were completely unequal; tanks were brought into the ghetto, buildings were destroyed, and everything was burned to the ground with flamethrowers. But even then, the Jews did not surrender; they fought to the very end… At that time, they showed the whole world what true courage is

Today, years later, we are once again living through the difficult times of war. Once again, there are those who openly speak of their desire to destroy the Jewish people, such as Iran and their inhuman proxies from Hamas and Hezbollah. But there is a big difference between then and now - today, the Jewish people are not defenseless. Today, they are capable and ready to defend themselves.
