First day of Hanukkah

Today, together with Kyiv Mayor Vitali Khlychko and Israeli Ambassador Michael Brodsky, I had the honor of lighting the first candle of Hanukkah! This is a special moment when the light of the candle reminds us of the victory of good over evil, of hope over hopelessness, of unity over discord.

Kyiv is a city that has always united people of different cultures and traditions, and this event is a symbol of our common faith in the future. The light of Hanukkah reminds us that even in the darkest of times, a small flame can dispel the darkness.

Let this candle become a symbol of hope, peace and strength for every citizen of Kyiv and all Ukrainians. Together - towards a bright future!
