Honoring the memory of Holocaust victims at Babyn Yar
Today, January 27, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we joined Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, rabbis from Ukrainian cities, diplomats, and other government officials in honoring the memory of Holocaust victims at Babyn Yar. This place has become a symbol of incredible, inhuman cruelty and a great tragedy for the entire Jewish people.
In his speech, the President of Ukraine emphasized that indifference and impunity towards evil are literally “fertilizer” for its spread. This is particularly relevant today, with the ongoing war in Ukraine and the terrible events in Israel.
May the memory of the more than six million Jewish hearts destroyed in the Holocaust be blessed and eternal!
I pray for the souls of the victims and know that light always triumphs over darkness!
