Joy that is born not from an easy life, but from the faith that the darkness will surely dissipate!
In the Jewish town of Anatevka, the Jewish community of Kyiv and the surrounding region celebrated Lag BaOmer! It is a special day in the midst of a long period of mourning.
It is truly a celebration through tears. During this time, Jews refrain from rejoicing and remember the disciples of the great sage and righteous man, Rabbi Akiva.
But right in the middle of these days, there is one bright day when it is both possible and necessary to rejoice. And there is a very deep meaning in this: even in times of profound grief, the Almighty gives us the opportunity not to drown in sorrow and mourning, but to “reboot”
For Ukraine, this is particularly symbolic—the heroic people of Ukraine are living through a time of great pain, loss, and trials. Unfortunately, there are victims of russian aggression every day, but that is precisely why it is so important not to give up on prayer, light, and joy—joy that is born not from an easy life, but from the faith that the darkness will surely dissipate!
