Today, the 11th of Nisan, marks the birthday of the great tzaddik of our generation—the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson!
This is a special day not only for Chabad Hasidim, but for the entire Jewish people and indeed for the whole world. For many decades now, U.S. presidents have signed a proclamation declaring this day “Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A.”- a day dedicated to education and moral values.
This is a truly unique phenomenon: the birthday of a Jewish spiritual leader is officially observed at the national level in one of the world’s largest countries - as a symbol of the importance of education, faith, and moral responsibility.
That is why U.S. President Donald Trump issued a special statement today. He honored the memory of the Rebbe and called him “one of the most influential Jewish leaders in modern American history.”
Incidentally, the Lubavitcher Rebbe was born in the Hero City of Mykolaiv, and his father was the chief rabbi of the city of Dnipro
