Today, May 8, is the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism. It is a day when we remember the millions of lives destroyed under the boot of evil. And among them, six million Jews, destroyed just for who they were

By the way, President Donald Trump, by executive order, established May 8 as the official day of commemoration - of victory in World War II, as is done throughout the civilized world. It was on this day that Hitler's Germany surrendered and Allied troops, particularly American, British, and Soviet soldiers, played a decisive role in destroying the Nazi regime.

More than 7 million Ukrainians fought against Nazism, without whom there would not have been this Victory, as well as a significant Jewish contribution. About 1.5 million Jews served in the regular Allied armies during World War II. Specifically, approximately 550,000 Jews served in the U.S. Armed Forces, 500,000 in the Red Army, 100,000 in the Polish Army, 60,000 in the British Armed Forces, and 30,000 in the Canadian Armed Forces.
