In the very center of the Holy City of Jerusalem
I had the honor of participating in the unveiling of a monument to the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933, which was erected in the very center of the Holy City of Jerusalem!
Together with Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Taras Kachka, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra, and Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk, we commemorated the millions of innocent Ukrainians who were starved to death by the criminal Soviet regime. The event was attended by political and public figures, members of the Israeli Knesset (parliament).
During my speech, I thanked the people of Israel for their solidarity and understanding of the pain of Ukrainians. And while in the heart of Israel, in the eternal capital of my people, Jerusalem, I offered a prayer for the souls of Ukrainians innocently killed by artificial famine and for a just peace!
