Put on tefillin for the first time
Today a touching moment happened for my family - my youngest son Shneor-Zalman, who has helped Ukraine a great deal by donating humanitarian aid to the people here and to the defenders - put on tefillin for the first time! This event was even more momentous because he did it at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, one of the holiest places on the planet...
Tefillin are two leather boxes that contain scrolls of Torah texts. They are placed on the head and hand during the morning prayer as a sign of spiritual connection with G-d.
This first time symbolizes the beginning of a new stage - the lad takes responsibility for keeping the commandments and behaving correctly. After all, this strengthens his spiritual connection to the traditions of G-d
Together with my son we prayed for peace and victory for Ukraine and Israel, for their defenders and for all, good people who need G-d's protection
May this new path of my son be filled with wisdom, good deeds and light, which he will bring to the world, following our commandments of G-d.
