This photo was taken on June 10 during rescue operations at one of the sites of russian attacks on civilian infrastructure in Kyiv. Among the ruins of the building, a slightly charred but completely intact Hanukkah menorah can be seen.

The Hanukkah menorah is a symbol of the indestructibility of the Jewish people. It is a symbol of the victory of the few over the many.

It is a symbol that even a little light can dispel the darkness.

I find this very symbolic and even analogous to the events currently unfolding in Ukraine. A great evil is trying to break and extinguish a small light. But this light is very strong and shining, and no matter how difficult things may be now, it is important to remember that light always prevails!
