U.S. Embassy in Ukraine with Spencer Schreithen

Jun 22, 2026

Deputy at the U.S. Department of State who is directly responsible for policy toward Europe - particularly Ukraine

I took part in an important meeting at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine with Spencer Schreithen, a deputy at the U.S. Department of State who is directly responsible for policy toward Europe - particularly Ukraine - as well as for issues related to religious freedom

During the meeting, we discussed very important issues: the state of religious freedom in Ukraine, russian attacks on religious sites, and the persecution of believers in the temporarily occupied territories

Today in Ukraine, various religious communities are enduring the pain of war together, helping people, and praying for the victory of good over evil!

We also spoke specifically about the importance of U.S. support for Ukraine, as well as the upcoming symbolic dates: the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s restoration of independence and the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence

I thank our American friends for their attention to the issue of religious freedom, their support for Ukraine, and their understanding that today Ukraine is defending not only its borders but also the values of the entire free world
