Zeev Elkin

I had a very pleasant and warm meeting with Zeev Elkin—Israel’s Minister of Finance and a member of the Knesset—who is currently in Ukraine as part of an Israeli delegation

I especially appreciate that Zeev came to Ukraine right now, during such a difficult and dangerous time. For me, this is an important sign that he cares deeply about the fate of Ukraine’s Jewish community, as well as the future of relations and friendship between Ukraine and Israel

We spoke at length about how important it is today not to lose contact between two countries that know all too well the cost of war, terror, and security. We discussed the life of Ukraine’s Jewish community, the challenges we face together, and the fact that true friendship between nations must be demonstrated not only in words but also through concrete support, cooperation, and a willingness to listen to one another!

I am sincerely grateful to Zeev Elkin for our candid conversation and for his attention to Ukraine and the Jewish community. As a memento of our meeting, I presented him with a copy of my book, *Between Miracle and Reality*.
